Determination

Evie is a joy filled, happy little girl. I am really enjoying getting to know this new little person. She is showing us who she is more and more each day. One of her personality traits that is clearly evident is her fierce sense of determination. she is not stubborn - nope, that would imply some sort of resistance - she is determined. She see what she wants and she goes for it. She does get frustrated when she can't do what she wants and her cries break my heart. But that huge smile that takes over her face when her determination pays off can mend it and then some. She is crawling now, working on stair climbing - but her current goal: standing. She loves her music table. She makes a b line for it every morning and stands and plays the rest of the day.

Did I mention that she loves taking things that belong to Robbie - namely his sippy?

October

Evie is growing like crazy! She is offically 6 months old now. She is still fairly small, she is in the 25th percentile for weight and 50th percentile for height. She is incredibly close to crawling. She can roll and scoot around to get to pretty much whatever she wants. Charlie's trains are in trouble!

She is even riding her little scooter!

Evie enjoyed all of our October family events. She loves all animals and particularly enjoyed the horses at Wicked R Ranch.

Evie took some great pictures at Elmer's.

She enjoyed watching Daddy carve the pumpkin!

She was the cutest flower on Halloween! She really enjoyed spending time with Stef and Joe, Jack and Susan and her swing!

She's My Brown Eyed Girl

Evie's eyes have officially turned brown! Originally, they were a shade of grayish-bluish depended on the light colored. Now they are 100% brown!

Jumping Beach

We have this cool contraption called a jumparoo which allows our children to jump freely from bungee type chords. I think that jumping is exactly what most children do in the jumparoo. Not ours. Robbie would swing and you would swear he was going to tear that thing apart. Evie goes in circles. Around and around she will rotate - think of a hula hoop type of motion.

Evie enjoys going to the beach. She just chills in her swing while the sound of the waves lull her into a happy sleep.

What Has Evie Been Up To?

She has had some major accomplishments lately.

First - she graduated from physical therapy. She was in therapy because she could not turn her head to the left.

Now she is very accomplished at turning her head.

Even when she doesn't want to.

She has also begun eating solid foods. So far just rice cereal, but she seems to enjoy it!

And of course, she loves her brother.

If you enjoyed these pictures, you get to thank Stefanie - her commitment to these blogs far outweighs mine!

She Walks the Line

Evie had fun on the deck in her walker today. She officially walked (or pushed her feet along) backwards while watching her brother play with bubbles.

Evie loves tummy time. She has gone over 30 minutes happily playing on her tummy. Here is a picture of her doing just that very thing.
